More Make And Do

Necklace and birthday card for a friend. Made the card on photoshop. Painted a seashell for the necklace and attached it to a collar I made of fancy shoelaces-Voila!

More homemade earrings although I still haven't quite perfected my technnique yet-they're not smooth and are too big but I am satisfied with my handmade decopage paper-was going for a kind of '80s pastel colour pallet..

In practicing nails for upcoming graduation balls, these are the creations I came up with.

Please let me know your opinions, I'm not sure where I'm going with my crafts and creations most of the time-are they worthwhile do you think?

Mad Tea Party

My sister got the mad, crazy and wonderful idea today to do an Alice in Wonderland type photo shoot thingy-it was fun! We had a little tea party theme and clocks galore! She was Alice of course while I was late for a very important date (hence the "ears" on my head!) These are just a few snaps, more to be seen on her blog; www.likeafineskylark.blogspot.com.

New Dress

Bought this dress in a second hand shop in Ennis the other day for €5. It was in a box of scarves, wasn't ironed, wasn't buttoned and seen as I was in a hurry I bought it quickly wihtout trying it on. I liked the pattern and thought if it really didn't fit I could use the fabric for something else. So I was pleasantly surprised when it turned out like this! I love anything that goes so well with my favourite yellow shoes!

Merchants of Ennis

Got out of the house today to go to the shops in Ennis-didn't have a lot of money to buy anything in particular but window shopping was just as fun. :)

"Essentials"-A beautiful shop with beautiful things. Couldn't resist taking photos when I saw all the pretty mirrors! Also visited an antique shop that I have never even notice before! I have lived here for 19yrs and I never knew it was there! My sister (www.likeafineskylark.blogspot.com) brought me to see it today and I swear it was as if by some Harry Potter magic it just appeared on the street! What a wonderful jungle! The photos are fuzzy as I took them quickly, without a flash (didn't know if I was actually allowed) but I think you get a sense of the wonderland I found myself!

Make and Do

Didn't you just love it when you were younger when you used to do arts and crafts? Coloured paper, glitter, glue, buttons, beads, ribbons? I remember having a set of Childcraft encyclopedias with instructions and colourful photographs of wonderful handmade things. Most didn't even serve a purpose but I knew that I wanted to know how to make them anyway... Well here are my recent attempts of make and do. It was most enjoyable and deeply satisfying to end up with something pretty that I will actually use and that no one else will have. :)

I made these earrings using thick cardboard, masking tape, paste and newspaper, decopage paper, old earring parts, satin and thread
Ok, these are not the best earrings in the world but I think that it's not a bad start at all! The next pair will be better. I do, however, love my sunglasses! These are just a pair of ordinary sunglasses that I bought for 10cent and jazzed up with decopage paper!!
