Sunny Side of Dublin

A recent trip I made to the Botanic Gardens with my mother. I decided to bring her to this wonderful place for her birthday as she had never been before-my, what a day to see it! the flowers and trees are in full bloom now and the blue sky and gentle breeze meant I simply had to buy a new summer dress! This one will be worked on a little to bring you my "Sailor Ahoy" look ;)
These remind me of Jocob's Coconut Creams!

Newbridge

Pink dress worn by Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's
(wow moment!)

This Sunday Maitiú's parents were very kind to bring me out for the day to the Newbridge Silver Showroom in Kildare. Currently, there is currently an exhibition entitled "Museum of Style Icons". The exhibition features garments worn by classic beauties including Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Jackie-O, Lady Diana, Grace Kelly-as you can imagine, I was in complete heaven! I'll let the pictures do the talking ;)

Marilym Monroe Umbrella

Costumes from movies such as Sparticus and Cleopatra

Edith Head fashion drawings

Roman Holiday Vespa

I've been doing a lot of thinking (and shopping!) since my last post. I am delighted and excited to spend the next few weeks finding the perfect pieces for the looks I wish to achieve-each with a different theme and influence. As seen above, I am working on my "50's Casual" look with only a few simple new pieces: Red Polka-dot head band(€7.65, Accessorize), red leather peep-toe sandals (€22.50, Urban Outfitters) and floral socks (3 for €10.80, Topshop).
If anyone gets a chance to visit Newbridge Silver take it! It's a wonderful place and the prices are very reasonable. I love my new cup and saucer (present from Maitiú), now home to my clips, earrings and rings. ;)

Apologies for the awfully dodgy photography (my camera phone was all I had with me). Roll on summer work so I can save up for a new camera!

Style Block

Lately I've found myself wandering aimlessly around town looking for something, never quite finding it and still return with nothing in my purse. Oh what a sad day it is when shopping has become a chore to me! The sun is out this past week or so and it's warm rays have me pulling out every possible bright colourful piece of clothing I have to wear-but I'm not satisfied and plan a day for myself to go shopping.

Spring pile!

Eek. I can't choose what I like, what I want, or what I need! The shops are so full of new summer stock instead of that tantilising tingle of stumbling across something wonderful, I'm instead growing confused and dizzy at all that's on offer. This has happened only twice, but that's two times too many according to me.....

So what am I spending my money on you might ask. Well until I put my finger on the item of clothing, accessory or pair of shoes that my mind longs for, I've been treating myself to luxury goods-things that a student should rather go without for the sake of grocceries! But in the meantime they are entertaining the longing in me until something better comes along ;)

M&S herbal tea (only purchased for their beautiful boxes!)
Herbal Essences shampoo (bought for the aroma!)

Only items I can find are much needed gym clothes!
(Swimming Togs~Penneys €12 Tracksuit trousers~Penneys €13)

Meanwhile, this blue coat is my most recent purchase. I bought it in a charity shop for €10 two or three weeks ago and I love it :)

Peacock came into my possession after a haggling session in New York's Chinatown :)

My signature Florence Welch Pose that tends to happen during the course of a night out! :D
