Style Block

Lately I've found myself wandering aimlessly around town looking for something, never quite finding it and still return with nothing in my purse. Oh what a sad day it is when shopping has become a chore to me! The sun is out this past week or so and it's warm rays have me pulling out every possible bright colourful piece of clothing I have to wear-but I'm not satisfied and plan a day for myself to go shopping.

Spring pile!

Eek. I can't choose what I like, what I want, or what I need! The shops are so full of new summer stock instead of that tantilising tingle of stumbling across something wonderful, I'm instead growing confused and dizzy at all that's on offer. This has happened only twice, but that's two times too many according to me.....

So what am I spending my money on you might ask. Well until I put my finger on the item of clothing, accessory or pair of shoes that my mind longs for, I've been treating myself to luxury goods-things that a student should rather go without for the sake of grocceries! But in the meantime they are entertaining the longing in me until something better comes along ;)

M&S herbal tea (only purchased for their beautiful boxes!)
Herbal Essences shampoo (bought for the aroma!)

Only items I can find are much needed gym clothes!

Meanwhile, this blue coat is my most recent purchase. I bought it in a charity shop for €10 two or three weeks ago and I love it :)

Peacock came into my possession after a haggling session in New York's Chinatown :)

Happy Birthday Amy!

Last night was my sister's birthday dinner. How fortunate that I have a spate of birthdays coming up this month giving me the chance to get all dolled up in my newly accquired pieces (through various events like clothes swap, shopping presents etc). Then I have my trip to New York to style myself for-yes you heard, New York, a five day college trip that is only days away at this stage, *squeaks with excitement*. My plan is to watch New York based movies every night until I leave on the 31st, namely; Breakfast at Tiffany's, You've Got Mail, Working Girl, Serendipity and others on the countless list of chick flick classics (Maitiú will be pleased!)

Anyway, back to the event at hand; Amy's birthday dinner. It was a lovely evening, pleasant meal, friendly company and of course the extra effort that my sister and I put into getting ready when it's for such an occassion;that means lipstick, heavily eyelined lids and curls. ;) This cute little velvet playsuit teamed with a mint green belt, mock chanel blazer (borrowed and present from my sister-good taste I must say)cream lace tights and matching brogues was comfortable and cute.Jacket-Christmas present
Belt-Borrowed
Playsuit-€7, Penneys
Tights-€8.99, New Look

Monochrome and Blue....

This is what I wore for one of my oldest friend's 21st birthday last night. My eyes were filled with tears looking at her and how happy she was-radiant one might say-and thinking how amazing it is that the girl I went to playschool with is now so grown up! It also make me feel the years creeping up on me as it's not long until I shall be turning 20! That age somehow makes me feel like I should all of a sudden become an adult and will have to be independent and responsible for ever more! *shudder* growing up sounds scary....

Anyway as I got all dolled up last night I was looking forward to a glorious time but instead, due to circumstances out of my control, didn't turn out to be the night I had anticipated. Feeling a little blue about it today..... Can't help feeling that little niggling selfish feeling of a dress and make up wasted....

But glad you had a wonderful night Iz. xx
