Howth

I was feeling very sad and irritated this morning. I had slept in and missed the deadline for sending in a college assignment which made me feel very annoyed that I hadn't just done it any of the first 6 days that we had to do it. O well.

To cheer me up, Maitiú darling brought me to Howth. What a plan, what a day and what a place. Thank you my love! First we went to Sutton where we looked out on the bay from the cliffs. Then we went onto the Maritime Village of Howth and walked down the pier in the blustery sunny afternoon.

That sure blew away the cobwebs from my irritated little head, while also giving me a wonderful oppurtunity to give my new, "best-bargain-I've-ever-got" shoes an outing :)

These lovelies were €86 in Urban Outfitters. They were on sale for €12. I got them at student discount for €10.80. Needless to say I was thrilled with myself and now have a great feeling about the CV I left in there. Fingers crossed-imagine the staff discount!! :D

Botanic Gardens 18th Oct 2010

Me and my Maitiú are trying to get out and about in this wonderful capital city of ours this year. This particular day we decide to go to the Botanic Gardens, a place that never fails to cheer me up! I am really looking forward to the Christmas fair that they hold here.

The highlight were the oak trees, for me, this time.

College, Shoes and Dublin

Desk of my new room.

So it's almost 5 weeks since I've moved onto College Campus and still I have no blogging to show for it! I hope to have some photos of my new living space soon as well as photos of my efforts to explore the city more while also getting involved with more Clubs and Societies this year. I have joined Book Soc., Drama Soc., (already having auditioned for Christmas Panto and.... won a trip to BROADWAY!!!!!:D), Art Soc, Music Soc and Cumann Gaelach (Irish Soc.)

Meanwhile, in other news-I want to wear my heels more. The reasoning behind this is a combination of a few things:
a) I have so many shoes but never wear them as I feel I should be going out for the night or have a special occassion to wear them. This is madness as neither happen very much so I've decided this is not a good enough reason to let them gather dust.
b) When I do eventually get an occassion to wear my heels i am left crippled for days afterwards. Why is this? Well lack of practice of course!
c) They're so pretty!

Here is one pic of my first trial day with heels

Roman Purchases

Collection of the souvenirs I brought back from Rome. It not what my usual bag of purchases would contain but never the less I am satisfied that I have brought home a little bit of Rome with me!

Modest but memorable collection of my Roman purchases and souvenirs.
I love my "Birth of Venus" by Botticceli print on hemp fabric!

Of course I had to buy some Catholic memerobelia and I must say I found the Vatican's souvenirs to be quite tasteful. I was bolied over by this cute little bell decoration with a Crib inside. Also I bought Holy bracelets, medals and crucifixes for my family. The necklace was bought for me in Pompeii by my dear Maitiú who haggled admirabley for it-I love my bargains so this impressed me! :D

"Anais Anais" fragrance which I bought with birthday money from my Aunt in a discount store near Barberini, volcanic rock from Mt. Vesuveus, Earrings from Pompeii (€5), Michaelangelo t-shirt, crosses and holy medals.

The strongest and best coffee I've ever tastes bought in "Castroni".

I also bought a few dozen postcards, a bottle of Limoncello for my house mates in college (limoncello sweets for those who don't drink), a lovely navy jumper/dress (€10), I assisted in the purchace of a Roman Leather wallet for Maitiú, and bought him a little toy Citron 500 as an anniversary trinket.
