Happy New Year ;)

Thought I'd get this year to a start by making a few resolutions and putting a start to my Spring/Summer wardrobe. What's that I hear you say-it's still January? It may still be frosty but those sun beams are having me creating looks, some of them brand new from my December clothes swap (a must for those of you who want to give your wardrobe a spring clean ;) )

So here's today's outfit-80s meets comic book nerd
(ideally I would be laid out on a stack of comics
but Look magazine was all I had to hand!)

New Year's resolutions never ever go well with me but I beleive they do some good, atleast in the first month or two of best intentions that is.....

1. Read more
currently reading Peter Pan :)
2. Update blog more often and gather a sizeable following (hopefully!)
3. Make every effort in my studies in the Irish & Journalism course I'm doing in college and find something that I'll really love doing with it ;)
4. More effort to meet old friends and socialise with close ones
5. The usual: eat well, exercise more, save money, earlier nights, blah, blah, blah...

More Make And Do

Necklace and birthday card for a friend. Made the card on photoshop. Painted a seashell for the necklace and attached it to a collar I made of fancy shoelaces-Voila!

More homemade earrings although I still haven't quite perfected my technnique yet-they're not smooth and are too big but I am satisfied with my handmade decopage paper-was going for a kind of '80s pastel colour pallet..

In practicing nails for upcoming graduation balls, these are the creations I came up with.

Please let me know your opinions, I'm not sure where I'm going with my crafts and creations most of the time-are they worthwhile do you think?

New Dress

Bought this dress in a second hand shop in Ennis the other day for €5. It was in a box of scarves, wasn't ironed, wasn't buttoned and seen as I was in a hurry I bought it quickly wihtout trying it on. I liked the pattern and thought if it really didn't fit I could use the fabric for something else. So I was pleasantly surprised when it turned out like this! I love anything that goes so well with my favourite yellow shoes!

In the Flesh

Debbie Harry live in the Marquee, Cork.

Two nights ago I had the pleasure of going to see Blondie live in concert-it was fantastic and Debbie Harry was looking fabulous as usual! So weird to actually see these people in real life! Anyway seen as it was the pioneering punk rock band itself I was going to see, I thought it only right to dress for the ocassion!

I Say Hello

I guess I better start by introducing myself-Hello! My name is Jill and I live in a small village in the west of Ireland. My summer/weekend job is in a local betting office-an unusual but enjoyable job-I love being friendly to the customers, and the odd funny story from the punters!

I am currently studying Irish and Journalism in Dublin.

The aim of this blog is still unknown to me, but I do know that I want to display my passions in life-music, art, fashion, travel, love. You can be sure that if something is over 20years old I'll love it! I love vintage clothes, anything from '50s to '80s. I've always been handy at getting a good bargain-most of my clothes are no more than €30!
My taste in music follows a similar pattern-the older the better. I love the Beatles, Fleetwood Mac, Billy Joel but my all time favourites are Queen. I love going to concerts- Elton John, Queen, Paul McCartney and Coldplay to name but a few!
I am an admirier of beautiful people who are so unique and yet so themselves, these just being a few:

Art is a big hobby of mine, and have been able to make money from it from time to time. I love painting, sketching and drawing, nail art and face painting. I suppose you could say I secretly want to go to art college.....My Deviantart Profile

I adore travelling; and have visited Paris, London, Spain, Portugal, Alaska, Glasgow, Cornwall, and Frankfurt. I shall be going to Rome with my love in September.

So I guess that's all i have to say so just sit back and enjoy the music!
